Solar gets talked about a lot, and not all of it is accurate. Here are five things people commonly get wrong, and what's actually true.
Myth 1: Panels don't work on cloudy days. They generate less power when it's overcast, that part is true, but they don't stop working. Paired with battery storage or a grid-tied setup, your home's power supply stays uninterrupted even through a run of bad weather.
Myth 2: Solar panels don't last long. Most quality panels last 25 to 30 years with minimal maintenance. That's a multi-decade return on a single installation, not a short-term gadget.
Myth 3: You need a huge roof. On average, a 1 kW system needs about 100 square feet of shadow-free rooftop area. Most homes have more than enough space; a proper site assessment tells you exactly what your roof can support.
Myth 4: There's no financial help available. Residential customers in India can access government subsidies on rooftop solar, and we handle the paperwork side of that process rather than leaving you to figure it out alone.
Myth 5: Installation takes forever. A home installation typically takes 2 to 5 days. Larger industrial projects take longer, but that's a matter of scale, not a sign that solar itself is a slow, complicated process.
